Carroll County December Events
Snow. Holidays. Lights. What is there not to love about December? As the year comes to an end, the festivities are just beginning. Carroll County is filled with many events that the community can take part in during the month of December. Here we will provide you with a short list of what Carroll County has to offer.
Starting from December 1 all the way till December 20, from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, the Carroll County Farm Museum will traditionally decorate the farmhouse in American fashion inspired by the poem “A Visit from St. Nicholas”. This is the perfect way to start off the joyous month with decorations!
Annual Holiday Bazaar
On December 3 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the Westminster Senior Center Site Council will be having an intense holiday shopping experience with decorations, knitted, quilted, and crocheted items, and even more. From books to crafting supplies, find everything you need to store up for the festive December month!
Carroll County Christmas Farmers’ Market
Want to visit even more vendors? On December 5, 12, and 19 from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the Carroll County Agriculture Center will be having a variety of vendors set up to sell crafts, gourmet food and home baked goods, fresh pine wreaths, and more! Food will be served, and there will even be acoustic entertainment to enjoy the shopping atmosphere.
Carroll County Artists Studio Tour
All throughout Carroll County, artists will be displaying their work and selling items. From December 5 – 6 at 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, working studios will have one or more artists selling their works, as well as other creative crafts such as paintings, photography, jewelry, and more. Everyone is also able to discuss the work with the artists and speak to them personally. With this being an annual event, make sure you come out and take part in this successful tour!
Mt Airy Main Street Christmas
In the beautiful, Historic Downtown Mount Airy, streets will be closed on December 5 for this event from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A tree lighting ceremony will begin at 5:00 PM with performances by local school music groups including band groups. At 7:00 PM there will be a parade featuring santa greeting the community on a fire truck. Don’t miss out on this fantastic ceremony and parade!
Sykesville Merry Main Street
Located at the Sykesville Main Street from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM on December 5, get ready for endless activities. From santa train rides on Sandosky Road to creating holiday ornament crafts and writing letters to santa at the Sykesville Town House on 7547 Main Street, there are a diverse group of events that everyone in the community can enjoy! With the Post Office and Visitor’s Center being open, everyone can get supplies in writing their letters to santa as well as enjoy candy canes and cookies. Later on in the night, santa will arrive to Main Street on a fire truck to light the tree at Fountain Park on Oklahoma Avenue. As if all of this was not enough, you can take a photo with santa and even enjoy the outdoor viewing of “Charlie Brown’s Christmas Special”. This is definitely an event you will not want to miss out on!
